PCM PROGRESSING CAVITY PUMPS
PCM utilizes Moineau™ technology in our range of progressive cavity pump products to ensure they can operate at higher pressures than other positive displacement pumps. Our pumps have very low shear forces and no pulsation, meaning they are suitable for any application requiring a constant flow, regardless of viscosity or pressure requirements.
Moineau™ is an advanced technology in progressive cavity pump innovation, named after René Moineau, the inventor of progressive cavity pumps. Our pumps utilize this innovative technology, offering outstanding features:
– Handling both thin and viscous products
– Flow rate proportional to speed
– High suction power with self-priming capability
– Smooth and consistent flow without pulsations
– Reversible operation
– Easy maintenance
Performance:
– Maximum flow rate: from 0.3 m³/h to 240 m³/h
– Maximum pressure: 24 bar / 350 psi
– Maximum temperature: 120°C / 250°F
– Particle size: 40 mm / 1.57 inches
Principle of Operation:
A Moineau™ progressing cavity pump consists of a helical rotor rotating within a helical stator. The stainless steel rotor is precisely machined, and the stator is elastomer-coated. When the rotor fits into the stator, it creates a pair of intermeshing helical cavities. As the rotor rotates within the stator, these cavities move spirally along the pump axis without changing shape or volume. This allows for the transfer of products from the pump inlet to the discharge without any degradation.
