RAMCO-Safety shields

RAMCO-Safety shields are primarily installed and used with the flange faces of valves and pipe joints in various chemical delivery systems where leaks may occur at any point. These leaks cannot be predicted due to the corrosive nature of the chemicals and the constant pressure inside the pipes. This poses risks to personnel working in the area and can also cause damage to machinery exposed to chemical vapors.

The history of RAMCO-Safety shields dates back to 1958 when chemical manufacturers in the United States began using metal-coated lead shields on various flange faces. This evolved into stainless steel shields by 1961. Since then, there has been a shift towards using plastic materials, which offer several advantages such as ease of customization to fit various shapes, lightweight properties, and increased resistance to various types of chemicals.
