Hanbal Trays & Tower Packing

Hanbal Masstech was established In July 1971 as design and manufacturer of Tower Trays, Internals and Packings, Wire Mesh Mist Eliminators and their associated products to serve tor 011 Refinery, Chemical, Petrochemical, Plant Engineering and Construction Companies and we are the pioneer of these Items In Korea.

We Joined Norton Chemical Process Products Corporation In 1979 as Sales Representative and worked with them as manufacturer. Joint Venture Partner(Norton Hanbal Korea Inc)., design/manufacturer and Licensee until April 2002.

We conducted R&D with Korea Institute of Energy Resources (KIER), especially noteworthy Is the R&D held with KIER-Ruhr University In Germany-Hanbal as F.R.I. member for five years under government assistance and our R&D with KIER continues every year.

We teared most of the design and fabrication technologies from Norton CPPC, but we have some of our own that will meet our customer’s specific requirements.

As we know what and how Norton had tested, and to continue to do that, we built an outdoor test facility, 20 feet(6 meters) square and 27 feet(8 meters) tall, for distribution quality test and what we have designed is questionable, we go for test to make it sure they are perfect.

We also design and produce traditional style Internals which are good for easy towers and hose cost about 30% less as compared to the high performance ones.

Conception : We combined the enhanced performance of the NHP valve with the downcomer design to create the award-winning high-capacity. The innovative downcomer design of the NHP-T2 tray significantly increases the tray’s active bubbling area. The result : Substantially 10% to 25% more capacity than conventional valve trays. The downcomer design maximizes vapor handling capacity. The downcomer design also increases the length of the flow path across the deck, boosting the tray’s efficiency.Valve design promotes uniform bubbling throughout the tray deck for improved capacity and efficiency.Installation uses existing tower attachments.

SELECTION OF TRAY TYPE AND THEIR FEATURES
The three basic types of fractionation trays are the perforated (sieve), valve and bubble cap trays. In general, tray type selection is determined by evaluating various factors, such as process, cost, mechanical, installation and maintenance considerations. Some important areas of performance to be taken into account when selecting the type of tray are capacity, turndown, efficiency, pressure drop, tendencies toward fouling and scaling, corrosion and actual historical data from previous experience in the system.

Since rasching rings were first used in early 1900’s, a number of different random packing types have been developed and used. Random packing is a type of randomly putting packing into the tower, and has various sizes ranging from 1/4 inch to 3 inch. In general, random packing is comparably free from material selection limited by the features of the system. The most common type are pall rings which are widely well-known. Recently, NMTP is frequently used which has high void fraction and low aerodynamic drag of saddle shape and has various type such as new Fros T Flake, N-PAK, etc.

Structured packing was developed in the early 1940’s, but failed to be popular because of liquid maldistribution and a lack of sufficient markets. Afterwards, corrugated sheet type structured packing was developed in the late 1970’s,and now it is widely used.

A demister is also called a mist eliminator, a wire mesh seperator,a wire blanket, etc. It has a function to separate and eliminate mist or dust from vapor. It is made of a variety of materials according to the conditions of use, so it can be used semi-permanently. The structure is so simple that it is easy to install and repair.

A plate type mist eliminator is also called a chevron mist eliminator, a vane type mist eliminator, etc. It collects liquid droplets entrained in the gas by means of inertia impaction.

A liquid distributor must be used where an external liquid stream exists in the packed tower. For the purpose of efficiency. more than one distributror is required in some cases.

A packing support plate physically supports the weight of the packed bed, In addition, this plate is designed to evenly disperse liquid and vapor through the high free area of a beam – type riser.

9

A liquid feed pipe is a device for feeding liquid to a distributor or redistributor,Each feed area is used to lower the rate of liquid flow incoming from the feed pipe, to prevent an excessive unstable liquid flow inside the distributor, and to maintain horeizontal liquid flow.

We have a vast array of these components available to supply and manufacture, with internals that include spare valve and caps such as MR2 cage heavy valve, MR7 cage heavy valve, NHP (STD) valve, MR2 light valve, bubble cap, spring washers, tray clamps, slide and standard washers, dome washers, hex nuts and bolts, blanking wedges, man-way clamps and studs, and sprit key. We use carbon steel, monel, titanium, and stainless steel (321,410, 304 and 316) for our hardware and component fabrications.
